It was the end of the afternoon when a noisy group of people came bursting into my room, waking me up from a very needed nap. I was about to feel upset about the situation, simply because I was tired, but I heard something I hadn’t in weeks. Portuguese!

Last year I quit my job, bought a one way ticket to Rome and went backpacking Europe alone for three months. Before going everyone’s question was about whether I was scared and why I was doing it. After returning alive, for the surprise of many, the big question was “how much did you spend?”, to which my response would be the shock to all who were curious: 2000€

 BRATISLAVA » 13-14 March (1 night) & 28-30 March (2 nights)

I can’t even put into words how I feel in love with Bratislava. It was a city I had no expectations. I went there because it was cheaper to go there than to go to Vienna from Budapest. It was a city that scared me, as most people would cut it out of their itineraries, but knowing I had the courage to go felt amazing, and exploring the Old Town was kind of like magic.

 Going to Bratislava, from Budapest, was a last minute call. I went to the train station, only to find out that the ticket to Slovakia was half the price then going directly to Austria. So, as usual, I decided Bratislava was worth seeing, even if just for a day. Little did I know I would get back to it not just a second time, but a third.

After going back to Vienna (looking back it might have been a mistake, but I decided to roll with my gut and I really felt like going back at the time), I had the impossible mission of getting out of Vienna in a cheap way and get my ass to Poland. You know, I mean impossible because it’s Vienna we’re talking about, and this city loves expensive, it’s Vienna’s favorite word!
