Awards, Inspiration

Lost Around the World was just nominated for the Liebster Award, and I am feeling over the moon with this. After so much hard work, so much time trying to figure out how things work and how to reach more people, finally this blog gets recognition.

I’ve never been the luckiest traveler out there, and the first time I backpacked alone was also the time I realized my travels would never be as easy as other travel bloggers paint it to be. During my travels, until last year, I had twisted ankles, lost buses and trains, gotten ripped-off, had my bank cancelling a card with all my money, had my credit card and ID stolen at a party hostel, had almost slept in the streets and so on. Life had not been easy. Still, this time around I thought maybe all the bad stuff happened because I was a newbie at the traveling thing. This time I knew what to expect and everything was going to be smooth, right? WRONG!

Europe, Spain

Seville was the last stop of my two weeks in Spain, and damn it was about time I visited this place!< For years I had heard about Seville, a city that was right there a little across the boarder, and still I made excuses every time I chose not to. This time I made it!

Europe, Inspiration

I just spent the night crying on my pillow, imagining the million things that could go wrong. I can’t stop shacking and telling me “flying is the safest mean of transportation” is not going to help me. Still, I managed to save enough money to make the decision to quit my job at the hostel, one I have loved since day one, and get my ass on a plane so I can solo backpack Europe again.

Last year I quit my job, bought a one way ticket to Rome and went backpacking Europe alone for three months. Before going everyone’s question was about whether I was scared and why I was doing it. After returning alive, for the surprise of many, the big question was “how much did you spend?”, to which my response would be the shock to all who were curious: 2000€

I’ve never been the kind of person who believes in fate and all that comes with it. I believe that each one of us make choices that leads us somewhere. I don’t think there’s someone who makes things happen for you. You decide your fate by a constant decision making process. Saying that, I may have changed my mind about this, while I backpacked Europe for 3 months alone. I’m still deciding whether life has a funny way of getting clues on your way, and that if you keep an open mind and your eyes open, these are the kind of things that will help you get what you want,or maybe life is just full of amazing coincides.
